This footage is from "ROLLIN WITH STEVENS & STEWART", a tribute to the last days of Black Vaudeville. Smokey Stevens and Jaye Stewart portray two comedians traveling on The T.O.B.A. vaudeville circuit of the 1920's. They perform the historic comedy routines of "MILLER & LYLES", "PIGMEAT MARKHAM", and "MOMS MABLEY". You get to know them through monologues by Langston Hughes, and writings by Stevens and Stewart.
Dancing Destinations is hosted by Ronald Smokey Stevens. Each week he takes viewers to dancing locales all around the world.
This was my very first film that I produced for the Community Film Workshop in 1988. It pays tribute to the genius of one America’s greatest entertainers, Bert Williams. He was known not only for his comic abilities but was also expert at pantomime. In the early 1900’s he filmed “Natural Born Gambler”. This is a remake or my tribute to that historic pantomime routine.
